Federal Skilled Worker Program

Guidance through eligibility assessment, profile creation, and application for skilled workers applying under Express Entry.

Overview

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one of Canada's primary pathways to permanent residence through the Express Entry system. It is designed for skilled foreign nationals who have the education, work experience, and language ability to contribute to Canada's economy. Applicants are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which scores candidates on factors such as age, education, language proficiency in English or French, and Canadian or foreign work experience.

To be eligible for the FSWP, you must have at least one year of continuous full-time skilled work experience in an eligible National Occupational Classification (NOC) occupation within the past ten years. You must also meet minimum language requirements - typically a CLB 7 in English or TEF 5 in French - and demonstrate educational credentials that meet Canadian standards, either through a Canadian degree or a recognized Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).

At Ginger Immigration, we help skilled workers in Chilliwack, BC and across Canada navigate every stage of the Express Entry process - from determining your CRS score and eligibility, to preparing a competitive profile, to gathering the documents required for your Invitation to Apply (ITA). As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), we provide authorized advice and representation before IRCC.
