Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is an open work permit available to international graduates from eligible Canadian Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs). It allows graduates to work for any employer in Canada for up to three years, gaining the Canadian work experience needed to qualify for permanent residence through programs like the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

To be eligible for a PGWP, you must have completed a full-time program of at least eight months at an eligible DLI, and your study permit must have been valid for the duration of your studies. The length of your PGWP corresponds to the length of your program - programs of eight months to two years result in a permit of equal length, while programs of two years or more qualify for the maximum three-year permit.
