Super Visa

The Super Visa is a special long-stay Temporary Resident Visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Unlike a standard visitor visa, the Super Visa allows multiple entries over a period of up to 10 years, with each visit lasting up to five years without the need to renew status from within Canada.

To qualify, the sponsoring child or grandchild must meet a minimum income requirement (based on family size) and provide a letter of invitation, along with proof of the relationship. The visiting parent or grandparent must also purchase private Canadian medical insurance valid for at least one year, meeting a minimum coverage amount, and must generally be admissible to Canada on health and security grounds.
